Joe Masterson

Member Highlight: Joe Masterson of JMasterson Work

Meet Joe Masterson of JMasterson Work, a talented graphic designer, website designer, and artist who’s been a part of the Wilkes County community for nearly 30 years. Originally from Dublin, Joe spent the first 12 years of his life in Ireland before making Wilkes County his home. His career began in retail, where he developed invaluable soft skills and learned the importance of serving his community. Over the years, Joe has worked as a freelance designer, collaborating with O.D.D. Roofing and Cube Creative, and even stepped in to teach graphic design courses at Wilkes Community College, covering tools like Photoshop and Illustrator.

Joe’s passion for art extends beyond design—he has a deep appreciation for both modern and traditional art galleries, with a visit to one in Sydney, Australia, standing out as a memorable experience. But perhaps one of Joe’s greatest loves is the James Bond film series. In fact, he’s watched every Bond movie at least 10 times, with Moonraker being the first movie he ever saw—on VHS, no less! Bond movies were a Christmas tradition back in Dublin, and Joe even once stayed awake for over 24 hours just to watch the entire series back-to-back.

At Masthead, Joe values the sense of community, collaboration, and shared experiences with fellow designers, entrepreneurs, and content creators. “We feed off each other,” Joe says, appreciating the different perspectives and life stories of the members. His message to others is simple yet profound: “Keep other people in mind. Learn from yourself and learn from others.” While Joe plans to continue pursuing graphic and motion design, he’s keeping his future open-ended, ready to dive into new opportunities as they arise.

We’re thrilled to have Joe as part of the Masthead community!
